By Request is an early gospel album from Frank Boggs with the Don Hustad Chorale, originally released in 1955 on Word Records. As Word’s first solo recording artist, Boggs (a noted baritone, choral director, and international sacred singer) delivers a collection of requested hymns and spiritual songs in his warm, classic style. The album features traditional favorites arranged with choral accompaniment, reflecting Boggs’ deep church roots and training with leading choral figures of the era. A foundational early Word release that showcases the rich, devotional sound that helped establish Christian recorded music — ideal for fans of classic sacred song and mid-century gospel.
