Lord, Let Me Leave A Song (1978) is a heartfelt gospel album from legendary Nashville songwriter Marijohn Wilkin, released on DaySpring Records. Known as the “Den Mother of Music Row” for hits like “Long Black Veil,” “Waterloo,” and the gospel classic “One Day at a Time” (co-written with Kris Kristofferson), Wilkin turned fully to Christian music after a personal spiritual renewal. Produced by Wilkin herself and recorded in Hendersonville, the 10-track project features songs she wrote, including the title track, “Day Old Bread and Love,” “Make Ready He’s Comin’ Home,” “Thank You Lord, for Creating Me,” and “Not Because He Died for Me.” Warm country-gospel arrangements highlight her sincere vocals and the lasting impact of a life dedicated to leaving a song of faith.
