Faith Unlocks the Door (1965) is a traditional gospel album by Jim Roberts (Jimmy Roberts of The Lawrence Welk Show), accompanied by the vocal group The Mellomen and released on Sacred Records. It features the popular title song (written by Samuel T. Scott and Robert L. Sande, with the well-known refrain “Prayer is the key to Heaven, but faith unlocks the door”) alongside classic hymns and gospel favorites such as “Beyond the Sunset,” “Peace in the Valley,” “Blessed Assurance,” “Whispering Hope,” “It Is No Secret,” “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” “In the Garden,” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Roberts brings his warm, polished baritone and easy-listening style to these inspirational tracks, making the album a gentle, faith-centered collection ideal for fans of classic 1960s sacred music and hymnody.
