Dave Boyer…Live! (1973) is a live album by former nightclub singer Dave Boyer, recorded at the Youth for Christ International convention at Winona Lake, Indiana, and released on Word Records. It captures his smooth, big-band-influenced gospel style on favorites including “This Little Light of Mine,” a happiness medley (“Happiness Is the Lord,” “His Name Is Wonderful”), “He Touched Me,” “Calvary Covers It All,” and “A Broken Heart I Gave,” along with an extended personal testimony of his dramatic conversion. More than a concert recording, the album presents Boyer’s story of total life change after years as a nightclub performer (under the name Joey Stevens). Warm, testimonial, and uplifting, it’s a standout early Word-era release for fans of traditional and easy-listening gospel.
